Spacious 1BRUnit @d' Heart of Tagaytay City

The unit is located at Cityland Tagaytay Prime Residences. The description of being in the heart of Tagaytay City is arguably correct. Some of the touristy places in Tagaytay are walkable from this area except the SkyRanch and Picnic Grove. Famished? A Loumar's Cafe is just a stone's throw away.

We booked this place for one night through Airbnb on 11th of April; we got 1000 pesos discount using my credit card. However, the room price was for dual occupancy only thus I paid an additional of 500 pesos for extra person  or 1,500 pesos for my three kids.

Shortly after we have booked the place we were contacted by Liza. All our inquiries were answered promptly. Detailed instructions were provided as well.

We paid additional 100 pesos for the pocket WIFI. However, it was a hit and miss connection thus we ended up using my wife's postpaid connection hotspot most of the time.

We arrived early morning in Tagaytay City but early check-in wasn't possible; we were told to come back at 12 Noon. Liza handled us a pair of room keys and oriented us about the room and house rules. We paid a security deposit of 2,000 pesos, if I remember it correctly, refundable upon check out. Our host is soft-spoken and very nice to talk with.

The toilet is different from the bathroom hence; while the bathroom is occupied the toilet can be used by another person or the other way around. No problem with hot water, just to add.

The tiny kitchen has everything you need for a few days stay including a midget fridge and complete cooking and dining utensils.

The room

The air-conditioned bedroom was barely enough for two people thus three of us ended sleeping at the living room with spare mattresses. The whole unit is comfy up to 5 adults only. All linens and pillows are stored inside the cupboard.

View from the balcony

There is a small veranda or balcony but it is facing a private subdivision; none of the spectacular view of the Taal. Nonetheless, going at the roof top, we were greeted by 360 degrees view of Tagaytay City. The breeze was quite strong and enjoyable. Due to cool weather, we didn't bother using the swimming pool near the lobby.

Upon arrival you need to coordinate with the security staffs and inform them that you are Liza's guests to avail free parking. Just to add, the covered parking is a first come first serve; there is no reserved parking slot though I can say that the entire parking area is secured.

While in the building we noticed that some units were being used as hotel rooms. Do not be surprised therefore to see housekeeping and room service staffs from time to time.

Before we checked out, I texted Liza and in a few minutes she was outside our room. I surrendered back the keys and received our deposit.

Though there weren't any cable channels we were treated to hundreds of movies digitally stored inside an external HDD permanently glued at the back of the wall mounted flat screen.

My eldest and I were watching a re-run of zombie movie "I am Legend" when we both suddenly noticed that the ending part was different from the actual movie shown in cinemas. If you have watched this movie then you'd know why it was entitled I am Legend. The main actor played by Will Smith died finding a cure hence he was a legend. However, this movie has a different ending. The main actor survived and was able to cure a lady zombie while the male zombie Boss didn't die either. He took the cured lady zombie from Will Smith's lab. Long story short, whenever I remember this movie I will always reminisce our family bonding in Tagaytay City.

The place is ideal for a small group or family especially those who intend to prepare their own meals.
